Deleting your account
Last updated: 2026-08-26
From inside the app
- Open GlutenGuide
- Go to the Profile tab
- Tap Delete account
- Confirm
You do not need to contact us, and there is nothing to fill in.
If you cannot sign in
Write to ilter6282@gmail.com. Please say which sign-in
method you used (Apple or Google) and your display name in the app.
We do not store email addresses, so we cannot find your account from the
address you write from. We may have to ask you something only the account owner
would know before deleting it — that check protects you.
What deletion removes
- Your account and the ability to sign back into it
- Your display name and profile image
- Your posts, notes, recipes and the photos attached to them
- Your votes on places
- The product sightings you marked at places
- Your blocks and the reports you filed
- Your language, country and sensitivity preference
What remains, and why
- The places themselves. A restaurant does not disappear
because one person left. Your individual vote is removed, so the counts change.
- Product corrections that were merged into the shared database.
Once a correction is accepted it is no longer attributable to you and is part of
the product record other people rely on.
- Records we are required to keep, such as evidence relating
to a serious abuse report, kept for as long as the law requires and no longer.
Your subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription.
Subscriptions belong to your Apple or Google account, not to your GlutenGuide
account. Cancel it in App Store › your name › Subscriptions
or Google Play › Payments and subscriptions, otherwise it keeps
renewing.
How long it takes
The account stops working immediately. Data is removed from live systems at
once and disappears from encrypted backups within 30 days as those backups
expire.
